She was a single mom and ran a Luncheonette in the Bronx. She was tough and funny, liked to have a good time, and loved hard. She’d give you the shirt off her back if you asked. She crocheted everyone baby blankets and babysat everyone’s kids. She didn’t take life too seriously, and laughed a lot. She was everyone’s friend and safe place to land. When my mom was a teen/ in her 20s, her friends would go to their apartment just to hangout with my grandma.
I can picture her folding our laundry on the couch, watching Spanish soap operas with no subtitles even though she didn’t speak Spanish. She always let us watch things we really shouldn’t have been watching. She always played barbies with me. She always bought us lucky charms and junk food, like grandmas are supposed to. Her favorite color was purple. She gave the tightest hugs.
Jewelry Care & Info
Each piece is handcrafted and may include vintage or delicate materials. To preserve its quality and extend its life, I recommend the following:
- Avoid contact with water, sweat, perfumes, lotions, etc.
- Do not wear while showering, swimming, or exercising
- Keep it safe in the pouch it comes in to avoid tangling/scratches
Each piece comes in a pouch made from upcycled fabric, sewn by Mercedes in Yonkers – who I met at a church flea market – how very on brand of me;)
Please note: Due to the use of repurposed and vintage components, slight variations or signs of wear are part of the piece's character and charm. All sales are final.
Many of the beads and charms used are thrifted or vintage, and as such, their exact materials or origins may not be known. Each piece is made with care, but we cannot always guarantee specific compositions or metal content. If you have known metal allergies or sensitivities, please shop thoughtfully.
Thanks for loving pieces with a past — and keeping them out of landfills!
